International Poll titled World most admired people released

An International Poll titled the World’s most admired people conducted by YouGov was released on 11 January 2014. YouGov is an international, full service market research agency.
YouGov compiled the results of a poll conducted in 13 countries and used the mix of internet, mobile phone survey to construct the World’s most admired people report.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates was named as the most admired person on the planet. President Barack Obama has been ranked second followed by the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pope Francis at the number third and fourth position respectively.
The batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar has been placed fifth among the list of world’s most admired peoples. He has been ranked first in India among the list of six other Indians who featured in the world’s most admired list of 30 persons. The other Indians are: Narendra Modi (7th), Amita bachhan (9th) and Abdul Kalam (10th).
The list also mentions about six women who have found place among the 30 most admired people with Queen Elizabeth ranked highest among them. Women in the list are Hollywood actress Angelina Joile, Germen Chancellor Angela Merkel, and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Chinese contemporary folk singer Peng Liyuan.
